Register/apply through Professional Testing, Inc., then schedule the computer-based seat with Pearson VUE. Bring a valid photo ID and your tabbed reference books. Always follow the current steps in your official Candidate Information Brochure.
Step 1 — Confirm you need B&F (you almost certainly do)
Business & Finance is required to qualify nearly every Florida construction contractor license. If you're unsure, see do you need the B&F exam.
Step 2 — Register and pay the exam fee
The Business & Finance exam is handled through Professional Testing, Inc. (exam development/application processing) with administration by Pearson VUE. You'll pay an examination/application fee (around $135) and a test-administration fee (around $80) — see the full cost breakdown. Confirm current amounts and the exact registration route on the official DBPR/PTI/Pearson VUE pages.
Step 3 — Pick your date and center
Once registered, schedule the computer-based exam with Pearson VUE: choose a testing center, date, and time. Give yourself enough runway to be hitting 80%+ on the timed simulation first — don't book before you're ready.
Step 4 — Prep your books and show up ready
It's open book, so tab and highlight your approved references in advance and practice finding answers fast (see the exam-day checklist and the Open-Book Finder). Bring a valid government photo ID and arrive early.
